We want to share that a dear friend of Pregnancy Center Plus has a bold, holy, and urgent mission. Mother Seraphina of the Franciscan Daughters of Charity in Covington is hoping to raise $2 million by March 24 to purchase Holy Name Catholic Church on Auburn Avenue, just a few blocks from Planned Parenthood.
The Holy Name Chapel Foundation is working to purchase the Church from the Uptown Catholic Family of Parishes so it can remain the Pro-life Church of the tri-state, continuing with masses, rosary processions, adoration, benediction, a place of prayer, novenas, parking for 40 Days for Life participants, and other pro-life events. The Archdiocese has slated the church to permanently close on March 25 and will sell the property.
The plan is for the church to be called The Holy Name Shrine for the Victims of Abortion, serving as a memorial for those affected by abortion. It will be a place of healing and comfort for anyone who has suffered because of abortion and will be rooted in prayer and devotion to our Eucharistic Lord to end abortion. It needs to remain as a visible witness against the negative influence of Planned Parenthood in the neighborhood and in the city.
